ABOUT YOUR SESSION

It is my goal to make sure your session is not only enjoyable but memorable too. I offer a variety of sessions both indoors and outdoors. My studio is located in historic Old Town Spring and the majority of my outdoor sessions are shot on the Northside of town. Prior to your photo shoot, we will discuss in detail your style, vision, and setting. I also offer detailed packets to help assist you in properly preparing for your session.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?

Easy! You can either email me at info@deannaaddison.com or go to my website www.deannaaddison.com and click the Contact tab. You can send me a message on Facebook, but I reply faster to emails!

 

DO YOU SHOOT ON THE WEEKENDS?

Yes I do! But my weekends are very limited. I sometimes schedule sessions on Saturday mornings at sunrise or on Sunday evenings at sunset! Newborns are Monday – Friday only.

 

WHAT TIME WILL OUR SESSION START?

For optimal lighting it is best to start shortly after sunrise and about 2 hours before sunset. Newborns are photographed Monday – Friday at 10:00am.

 

HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION LAST?

The session is for 1 hour, however I totally understand that kids need time to warm up. Believe me, I’m not punching a clock. We are there to make memories! Keep in mind that Houston weather is so unpredictable. When I see tons of sweat and red faces from the heat or blue lips and goose bumps from the cold; I usually cut the session a little short. This is supposed to be fun not torture! Newborns are a little different. The session will typically last 2-3 hours.

 

WHERE WILL OUR SESSION TAKE PLACE?

The majority of my sessions are shot in the Spring/Woodlands area. I do venture into downtown and surrounding areas. There is a $50 travel fee for locations 30 miles from 77389. For out of town sessions email me for pricing. Newborns are photographed in my studio located in Old Town Spring.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS OR IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

If it rains we will reschedule. I reschedule for my next available opening or you can pick from a few dates to see what fits with your schedule best. I will most likely reschedule if the weather is really windy, freezing temps or extremely cloudy. This is something we can discuss together on the day of your session.

 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

This is such a fun question! Dress for the location. If we are in a field at sunset, I think something more casual, fun and free will fit the setting. If we are doing something a little more urban then jazz it up a bit! I want you to wear what makes you happy and smile! Your first priority is feeling comfortable! Don’t forget to consider the weather too. No one wants to wear a sweater when it’s 85 or a sundress when it’s 45 outside! I will say I am not a fan of running shoes. I think bare feet or converse are a perfect alternative. I have a packet I can send out too with additional tips and suggestions about styling your session.

 

HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I BRING?

For outdoor sessions I think it’s practical to say 2 outfits. I don’t recommend a lot of outfit changes because it can burn up valuable light and kids tend to check out much sooner. Ages 6 months to 1 year do best with 1-2 outfits. Easy outfits to get in and out of are a plus!

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY SESSION?

All my packages are all-inclusive. You will get the session, full resolution digital downloads of all your edited images and a print credit. For the larger packages I have a bonus gift. A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session. The balance is due the day of your session. Sales tax does apply.

 

HOW DO I GET MY IMAGES?

Once your gallery is ready you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to download your images directly to your desktop. You can also choose to share this email with your friends and family so they can download them also. I keep all galleries up for 30 days. There is a $75 fee to upload a gallery that has expired.

 

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I GET?

All galleries, with the exception of the mini maternity session, will include color and black and white full resolution images. There is a minimum of 20 color and 20 black and white images included, however I almost always include more. I will try my best to get as many images as humanly possible, but at the end of the day I am at the mercy of your children.

 

WHAT IS THE TURN-AROUND TIME FOR GALLERIES?

I know how anxious you are to receive your images. My turn-around time is 2-3 weeks. This will allow for ample time to edit, enhance and touch-up skin. Some session require a little more TLC than others. I don’t like to rush this process, I want you to love your images!

 

DO I GET THE RIGHTS TO THE IMAGES?

You will get the printing rights, I will maintain all copyrights to the image. I can’t stop you, but I do not like when my images are edited or enhanced in anyway by someone other than myself. It is a misrepresentation of my work and I’m not a fan of that at all.

 

CAN I SUBSTITUTE ITEMS IN THE PACKAGE FOR A DISCOUNT?

Sorry, but no you cannot. Print credits are just that, credits. These are my gift to you so that you can have quality professionally processed prints. This is my “thank you” for allowing me to capture your family!

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DUE DATE CHANGES?

I know that newborns have their own schedule. The best time to photograph newborns are 5-14 days after birth. If we need to move your date, I will try my hardest to move your session to accommodate that time frame. If your baby is in the NICU we can chat about other options.

 

WHAT IF SOMEONE IS SICK?

I definitely want everyone to feel like themselves during the session. We are able to reschedule once without any additional fees. If we have to reschedule a second time a new retainer is required to secure that date.

 

CAN I CANCEL MY SESSION?

Yes you can. However, the retainer paid to secure your date is non-refundable. If you want to try and reschedule your retainer is valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation. You can change your package. The amount paid will be applied to the new balance. I understand there are unforeseen circumstances that may occur, just email me to discuss options.
