ABOUT YOUR SESSION

Outdoor sessions are scheduled for locations and times with optimal lighting that fit your style. Deanna predominantly shoots in the Spring area but is willing to travel to the beach or downtown. Sessions are also available in her studio, located in Old Town Spring, with alternative studio options available for an additional fee. Prior to your session, Deanna will have a consultation to discuss location, style, and wardrobe.

Q: HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?

A: Easy! You can either email me at info@deannaaddison.com or go to my website www.deannaaddison.com and click the Contact tab. You can send me a message on social media, but I reply faster to emails!

Q: WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU SHOOT?

A: I shoot 7 days a week except for holidays. Weekend sessions are limited and include Saturdays at sunrise or Sundays at sunset. Sessions are scheduled for optimal lighting and will start at a specific time based on location. I typically shoot in The Woodlands and Spring Texas area; however, I will travel to Galveston, downtown, and surrounding areas for seasonal blooms. There is a $50 travel fee for sessions scheduled 30 miles from 77389. Out-of-town sessions require an estimate. Newborns are photographed either in-home or in my studio located in Old Town Spring.

Q: HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION LAST?

A: Outdoor sessions typically last 30 to 45 minutes. Studio sessions range from 30 minutes for sitters and families, and up to 90 minutes for newborns.

 

Q: WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY SESSION?

A: All my regular-priced collections are all-inclusive. You will get the session, edited full-resolution digital images, and a print credit. A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session at the time of booking. The balance is due the day of your session. Sales tax does apply. Mini sessions include a digital package only. Gallery turn-around time is typically 3 weeks. You will get the printing rights; I will maintain all image copyrights. I can’t stop you but don’t enhance or alter my images. It is a misrepresentation of my work, plain and simple.

Q: WHAT DO YOU EDIT?

A: I smooth out and even skin tone. Remove acne, bruises, cuts and scrapes. Black eyes are tricky, I recommend rescheduling if your kid has a nice shiner. Hair frizz is tamed as naturally as possible and fly-aways. Noticeable obstructions such as trash cans, pedestrians, pets, and street signs (if not part of the landscape) will be edited out. Clothing issues, such as wrinkles, folds, zippers, buttons, some bra straps, socks, and some logos, are not part of the editing workflow. This falls into the category of customer preparation. Make a mental note to empty pockets before shooting. Cell phone, keys and wallets are not needed for your pictures. Finally, I encourage everyone to love themselves and embrace all things that make you unique. I WILL NOT alter your body or face in any way.

 

Q: RESCHEDULES, WHAT DO WE DO?

A: Let’s face it, the weather is unpredictable. I ask that everyone be as flexible as possible. Unless we are 100% certain of a reschedule, come dressed and ready to shoot the day of their session. Reschedules include wind, rain, and natural disasters. If this occurs, we return to the calendar and pick a new day. Final rescheduled decisions are made either 2-24 hours prior to shooting. Newborns are just as unpredictable as the weather. If your due date changes, let me know, and we can look at other options for your session. The goal is to shoot 7-21 days after birth. If your baby is in the NICU we can chat about other options. If you or someone in your family is sick, let me know. We can reschedule once without any additional fees. If we need to reschedule a second time, a new retainer is required to secure that date. Mini sessions are nontransferable; however, I want to work with you. If given enough notice, I can sell your session to someone on my waitlist. No shows are considered a cancellation. Thirty minutes late with no prior contact is considered a no show and the session is immediately cancelled.

 

Q: WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T BEHAVE?

A: I get it. This is life. Keep in mind our goal is not to capture perfect behavior. It is to create memories and have a beautiful experience. Kids will be kids. Let them know this will be fun, and I promise the session will organically evolve into a beautiful or fun story.

 

Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/HOW MANY OUTFITS?

A: I love this part! I provide you with a style guide and tips on how to coordinate. The goal is for your family to be comfortable but also create a fun Pinterest-worthy session. My assistant and I will happily style your family and help direct you in clothing suggestions right down to the perfect accessories! Just say the word! I do not recommend multiple outfit changes unless it is for a cake smash. I have a small window to keep your child’s attention. Swapping outfits can burn valuable sunlight and your child’s patience. However, I can typically fit 1-2 outfits in sessions.

 

Q: CAN I CANCEL MY SESSION?

A: Yes, you can. However, collection retainers are nonrefundable and transferable once. Retainer payments are valid for one year from the date of payment. Sessions rescheduled more than once or scheduled outside the 12-month period are subject to a new retainer fee. Mini-session retainers are nontransferable and nonrefundable. I understand there are unforeseen circumstances that may occur. Please email me to discuss options.
